Why Huddlebase

The opposite of a forced icebreaker.

Every detail is tuned so the session runs itself and people leave with more energy than they came in with — not less.

Instant join, anywhere

Share a link or QR code. Players join from a phone, laptop or huddle-room screen in seconds — no account, no app, no awkward setup.

Self-driving sessions

The platform handles pacing, team formation, timers and scoring. The host plays along with everyone else — no facilitator burnout.

Built for real-time

Powered by Firebase Realtime Database. Answers, buzzes and leaderboards land in well under a second — even on shaky office Wi-Fi.

Mobile-first by design

Most participants play from their phone. Layouts, typography and tap targets are tuned for the small screen first, the TV second.

Replayable rituals

Save question packs, prompt sets and themes. Re-run the same session across teams, or remix it for the next onboarding cohort.

Hybrid native

Mix remote players with a co-located group on a shared screen. Huddlebase keeps the energy in the room and online aligned.

The game library

Four formats, infinite sessions.

Pick a game, drop in your content, run it as many times as you like. Each format has its own personality — and shares the same calm host experience.

Quiz
Flagship

Trivia, sharpened.

A real-time trivia battle. Host runs the show on a shared screen while players answer on their phones. Faster correct answers earn more points — up to 1,000 a round.

  • Multiple choice, true/false and estimation questions
  • Optional images per question
  • Live answer distribution and leaderboard
1–50 players 10s per question 500–1,000 pts
Quiz Royale
New

Trivia with teeth.

A competitive variant of Quiz with jokers and game modes. Steal points, block opponents, 50/50 your way to victory, or buzz in first in single-answer mode.

  • 4 jokers: 50/50, Steal, Block, Double Points
  • Standard, Time-based and Single-answer modes
  • Buzz-in reconciliation tuned for fairness
2–50 players 3 game modes 4 jokers each
Guess Who

Anonymous answers, public detective work.

Players submit anonymous answers to playful prompts, then guess who wrote what. A rapid-fire reveal at the end is the moment everyone screenshots.

  • Custom prompts plus a built-in library
  • Stealth bonuses if nobody figures you out
  • Rapid-fire author reveals with running stats
2–20 players 1–20 prompts Stealth scoring
Two Truths & a Lie

The classic, online and on time.

Each player writes two truths and a lie. The group hunts for the lie one player at a time. Theme rounds keep it fresh for recurring sessions.

  • Up to 5 themed rounds per session
  • 3-minute writing window, 20-second guessing
  • Cumulative-time tiebreakers settle the leaderboard
3–200 players 1–5 rounds Themed prompts

More formats in the oven — from business simulations to ritualized retros.

New game modules ship every few weeks. Existing sessions get them automatically.

From idea to live in 60 seconds

Run it in less time than it takes to find the meeting link.

  1. 01

Pick a game, write the content

Choose a format and add your own questions, prompts or themes — or start from a built-in library. Auto-saves as you go, so you can prep over lunch and run it after standup.

  2. 02

    Share a code or QR

Hit Start. Your team gets a 6-digit join code and a QR for the room TV. They tap, type a name, and they're in. No accounts. No app store.

  3. 03

    Play, score, replay

Huddlebase runs the rounds, scoring and reveal moments. At the end you get a saved session you can rerun for the next team, the next sprint, or the next hire.

For modern teams

New hires actually talk in week one. The Guess Who game is wild.
Best 25 minutes of the week — and the host gets to play 🎉

01

Engineering all-hands

Slot a 10-minute Quiz Royale into the start of the all-hands. The chat lights up; nobody asks "can you see my screen?"

02

New-hire onboarding

Run Guess Who in week one. People learn five surprising things about their teammates before they learn the deploy pipeline.

03

Offsite kickoff

Open the offsite with Two Truths & a Lie themed to the company. Hybrid attendees join from a phone; the room reads the screen.

04

Friday socials

A recurring 25-minute slot. Rotate hosts, rotate games. The ritual sticks because the friction is zero.

Host

Plan it in a tab. Run it from any screen.

  • Write questions, prompts and themes once — replay forever.
  • Drag-to-reorder editors, image uploads, autosave.
  • Share a QR or six-digit code to the room screen, projector or Zoom share.
  • Resume mid-game if you refresh, drop off, or the wifi blinks.
Participant

No download. No account. Just join and play.

  • Scan a QR or type a six-digit code from anywhere.
  • Pick a name; tap big colored answer buttons.
  • Designed mobile-first so phones are first-class players.
  • Reconnect-safe: refresh and your score and place are preserved.
Free during early access

Your next team huddle is one link away.

Sign in, pick a game, send a code. Most teams have their first session up and running before the kettle finishes boiling.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Do my teammates need to install anything?
No. Huddlebase runs entirely in the browser. Players open a link or scan a QR code and they’re in — works on iPhone, Android, laptops and TV browsers.
How many people can play at once?
Up to roughly 200 concurrent participants per session, depending on the game. Quiz scales to 50, Two Truths & a Lie to 200, and our infrastructure is built around real-time low-latency updates.
Does the host have to facilitate?
Hosts play along like everyone else. The platform handles pacing, timers, scoring and reveals. Manual controls exist if you want them — they're optional, not required.
Can I reuse content across teams?
Yes. Question packs, prompt sets and themed rounds are saved and replayable. Rerun the same Quiz for a different cohort, or remix prompts between sessions.
Does it work for hybrid teams?
Built for it. Some people in a room watching a shared screen, others remote on their phones — they all see the same state, in sync. It's the same code path either way.
How is the data handled?
Persistent data (sessions, configs, results) lives in Firestore. Live gameplay state runs through Firebase Realtime Database and is wiped when a session ends. Authentication is Firebase Auth.
